Job Description

As part of our growth, we are looking for a Power Converter Engineer. You will be responsible for performing the following tasks:

YOUR TASKS:

  • Act as the main technical focal point for converter suppliers, leading and coordinating all engineering activities related to power converter development and integration
  • Define the converter concept, architecture, and detailed technical specifications of power converters for Nordex WTGs ensuring alignment with power electrical system requirements
  • Develop converter subassembly designs, specifications, and validation plans, collaborating with suppliers and manufacturers on component qualification and testing
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to the main converter, including specifications, manuals, instructions, and certification support documentation
  • Support and oversee inspections, testing, and validation activities at supplier facilities, as well as in stand-alone and generator-connected test benches
  • Provide technical support for sourcing and certification activities, including the identification and validation of alternative converter components and support for wind turbine certification processes
  • Perform and enhance hardware design simulations and simulation tools using Matlab-based environments to support converter development and validation

YOUR PROFILE:

  • M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or similar*
  • +3 years in the wind turbine sector
  • Experience with Matlab is a plus
  • Fluent level of English is required (C1 or above)

*For foreign qualifications, recognition as the corresponding Spanish degree equivalency is required when applying.
