Job Description

  • Sprays surfaces of manufactured products with protective or decorative material such as powder, paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer by performing the following duties. This position may require overtime to include weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Selects powder coating for job.
  • Assures all associated equipment is maintained and in excellent working condition to include powder guns, booth, and powder storage room.
  • Has a full understanding of powder gun operation and needed settings to produce quality parts the first time through.
  • Has a basic understanding of the how the rest of the line operates to include wash tanks, conveyer system, dry off and cure ovens.
  • Has a full understanding of all loading and unloading duties (see also job description for loader/unloader).
  • Accurately completes all work documentation.
  • May work in other areas of either plant based on production requirements.
  • May be required to work off shifts as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
