Job Description

  • Supervise, schedule and lead QA Technicians and team members, ensuring safe food handling practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate with USDA team members.
  • Monitor plant floor for quality and food safety issues.
  • Provide training for the weekly QA meetings.
  • Monitor samples submission form before packing.
  • Perform QA hold releases and transactions and WH transfers.
  • Help with any implementation of programs and procedures.
  • Create, maintain and verify maintain paperwork of all production and quality paperwork.
  • Order supplies as needed.
  • Oversee hold releases.
  • Communicate when product is out of specification with the management team and techs.
  • Assist in preparation and execution of customer, corporate, and third party audits
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory programs
  • Perform document reviews, ensuring completion and accuracy
  • All other relevant duties as required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required, preferably Bachelor degree in Food, Animal, Poultry Science or other closely related field
  • Previous QA and food manufacturing experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in poultry or meat processing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented

Physical Requirements

  • Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
  • Frequently sit for long periods.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
  • May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments.
  • Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
