JOB TITLE: Pottery Instructor ll FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
General Statement of Duties: Performs a variety of operational and instructional duties related to the following Art and Education Programs: Youth and Adult Pottery.
Supervision Received: Works under the direction of the Arts Enrichment Coordinator.
Supervision Exercised: None

Physical and Environmental Standards Must be able to repeatedly sit, walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push, and pull. Must be able to type, write, use a calculator, use a computer, and answer the telephone. Must possess the ability to use the telephone/cellphone to talk and hear. The ability to communicate face-to-face is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Must be able to properly lift/move 20 pounds unassisted and 40 pounds with help. Must be able to conduct classes at all four (4) recreation facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Background in art programming for youth and adults. Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written formats with staff and members. Ability to understand and interpret rules and regulations which govern the HRCA membership. Ability to collect, analyze and present data in report format. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers and HRCA membership. Must possess or be able to obtain current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Education Bachelor’s degree in art or other related areas from an accredited college or university preferred. Workshops and Certifications will be considered.
Experience: Two years in youth and adult clay arts programming or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
