Senior Data & Backend Engineer / Senior Technical Specialist Experience 10+ years Role Summary We are seeking a Senior Technical Specialist with strong experience across cloud‑native development, data platforms, and enterprise reporting systems. The role demands deep expertise in AWS, Python, Lambda, databases, and analytics platforms, with the ability to design, build, and support scalable, secure, and high‑performance solutions. The candidate will play a key role in solution design, delivery excellence, and technical leadership. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend and data solutions using Python and AWS services Build and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda and related AWS services Develop, enhance, and support enterprise reporting and analytics using OBIEE Design and optimize database solutions using PostgreSQL and PL/SQL Write and maintain efficient Unix shell scripts for automation and operational tasks Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting across systems Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps teams Ensure security, reliability, and compliance standards are met Support production systems, conduct root cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices and standards Mandatory Technical Skills 10+ years overall IT experience with strong backend and data focus AWS Cloud experience, including AWS Lambda IAM, S3, CloudWatch (hands‑on exposure preferred) Python development experience Extensive experience with OBIEE (reports, dashboards, data models) Strong database expertise in PostgreSQL PL/SQL Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux and shell scripting Experience in data analysis, ETL, and reporting workflows Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and analytical skills Preferred / Good‑to‑Have Skills Experience with additional AWS services (API Gateway, Step Functions, RDS) CI/CD pipeline exposure (Git, Jenkins, etc.) Experience in Agile / Scrum delivery models Leadership & Behavioural Competencies Strong ownership and accountability mindset Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Proven ability to guide teams and influence technical decisions Delivery‑focused with attention to quality and timelines
