How you will build your expertise within Cabrini's Postgraduate Program: Cabrini Health is offering Postgraduate Nursing Program (Anaesthetics/PACU) commencing February 2027. It is a 24-month contract , at minimum, consisting of 12 months affiliation with Monash University and a following 12-month consolidation of skills and commitment to Cabrini. The aim of the program is to provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills for advanced clinical practice within Perioperative Nursing.

Utilising state of the art facilities and highly skilled educators within our modern Theatre department, our Perioperative Nurses will build on their skills to deliver perioperative care Nurses work as part of a multidisciplinary team using the latest techniques in surgical intervention. The course prepares Nurses to apply perioperative principles to patients with complex, chronic and acute medical conditions requiring surgical interventions.

Cabrini Theatre is a vibrant environment with 26 operating theatres, including a hybrid lab, and endoscopy suites spread across two floors in a spacious and modern facility. Our Surgical Specialities include, but are not limited to: Plastics, Paediatrics, ENT, Neuro, Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, General, Vascular and Cardiac.

Program Structure:
The Postgraduate Nurse program comprises of four units of study, with the first unit of study commencing February 2027. The course will be delivered via study days, on-line learning modules, and will require various competency and assessment tasks to be completed in the clinical workplace.

On successful completion of the program, the Registered Nurses will have gained sufficient credits for award of a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Nursing (Perioperative Nursing).

NOTE Students will enrol in the Monash Master of Advanced Nursing course and exit with the Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing.

To be eligible for the Cabrini Postgraduate Nursing program you will have:

• Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA

• A minimum of 2 years nursing experience post registration

• Victorian Working with Children Check (if applicable)

• Commitment to quality patient care and outcomes

• The ability to work within the Mission and Values of the organisation

• Flexibility and a positive attitude

• Enthusiasm for participation in a team environment

• Excellent customer service focus and communication skills

It is expected the successful candidates will commit to a further year commitment post course completion.

Course commences February 2027 with interviews being held in August.
