Job Description

The Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC) is an integrated, team-taught core curriculum program for students in the Honors College that emphasizes global and comparative perspectives on primary texts in historical context. The BIC seeks to fill a full-time Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow position in the Honors College for the academic years 2027-2028 and 2028–2029, with an anticipated start date in August 2027. A third-year renewal of the appointment is possible. This is a full time temporary position and is neither tenure or tenure-track.

We seek rising teacher-scholars working in Rhetoric and/or Composition or a related field with experience in writing instruction. The successful applicant must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent in relevant fields(awarded by August 21, 2027.) All applicants must complete the self-disclosed Religious Affliliation Form.

Workload assignment is 75% teaching and 25% research. Teaching typically involves nine hours each semester. Course sequences in which fellows might teach include The Examined Life, World of Rhetoric, World Cultures, and Social World. A full listing of BIC course sequences can be found here.

During the period of their appointment, postdoctoral teaching fellows will receive mentored teaching and learning training, as well as research and publication workshops to support their faculty formation and prepare them for a position in higher education.

Candidates who are outside of the United States and do not have other nonimmigrant visa status will not be sponsored for an H-1B petition.

Qualifications

  • Graduated with PhD within 12 months preceding start date.
