A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Neal Bennett, Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) for highly motivated individuals. Highlights of Dr. Bennett’s recent research includes: identification of genetic drivers of cellular energy state and metabolic vulnerability in cancer and human neurons with functional genomics, and integrating multi-omic datasets to identify candidate therapies for inherited metabolic diseases, with a focus on drug repurposing. We are building on this experience by forming a strong and diverse research group focused on advancing basic biologic understanding and therapeutic strategies across these disease spaces.
Areas of interest include: metabolism, functional genomics/CRISPR screening, modeling and treatment of inherited metabolic diseases, tracer metabolomics and multi-omic integration, dementia, or certain cancers in stem cell (iPSC) and animal systems.
Candidates with Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees and intensive training in the areas of genetics/genomics, molecular biology or biochemistry, biophysics, biomedical engineering, neuroscience or similar are encouraged to apply.
We are Oregon's only public academic health center. In addition to caring for patients, we lead groundbreaking research. We also train the next generation of health care professionals. As Portland's largest employer, we give you opportunities to learn and advance in a system of hospitals and clinics across Oregon and Southwest Washington. All are welcome.
