
Multiple positions for postdoctoral training are available in the laboratory of Shixuan Liu, Ph.D. in the Neuroscience at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Our research brings together molecular, cellular, and systems approaches to study biological clocks, metabolism, neurodegeneration, and primate biology. We have opportunities for projects spanning genetics, single-cell omics, disease modeling, behavior studies, and data science. Candidates must hold a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree. Candidates will lead independent research projects that align with their interests, and can choose from a wide spectrum of topics including circadian and seasonal biology, metabolism, immunology, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and computational biology.
We welcome applicants from a broad range of backgrounds. They will receive close mentorship in study design, experimentation, data analysis, and manuscript preparation, and may participate in collaborative projects involving multimodal datasets across molecular, physiological, and behavioral domains. The PI will actively support each candidate’s professional growth through personalized training and career development guidance.
