Job Description
A temporary postdoctoral researcher will be hired in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology
Essential Functions
- The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for:
- Independently researching, designing, and performing experimentation on multiple projects
- Taking direction from the PI and collaborators to complete research objectives
- Performing molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, plasmid isolation, genomic DNA/RNA isolation, DNA Sequencing (Sanger, Illumina, Nanopore), virus production
- Assisting in CRISPR experimentation – transfection of RNPs and viral transductions
- Performing tissue culture on adherent and suspension cells
- Performing cellular assays including but not limited to Western immunoblotting, flow cytometry
- Performing all work in a BSL2 or BSL3 environment
- Maintain and update paper and electronic laboratory notebooks
- Compile, organize, and process data in various software including Microsoft Office, PRISM, FlowJo, a dn lite computational data analysis in Python
- Writing manuscripts, grants, and progress reports
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Biology
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Additional Information
This is a Full-Time temporary position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
