Arizona State University and The Biodesign Center for Personalized Diagnostics at the Biodesign Institute are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scholar with expertise in cancer immunology and cancer biology. This role will lead pivotal initiatives in immunotherapeutic platform development and target discovery to advance precision oncology strategies.

Our center is engineering multiplexed single-cell assays to screen and identify patient-specific immunogenic neoantigens and their corresponding immune receptors for direct translation into therapeutic agents. Concurrently, we integrate cutting-edge multi-omics, functional screening platforms, tumor-on-chip models, and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models to uncover actionable mechanisms driving tumor-intrinsic signaling and immune/stromal microenvironment interactions. The successful candidate will serve as a scientific and operational leader across both research tracks, driving project execution, technology innovation, and team mentorship. We anticipate filling this role in October 2026.

Essential Duties

• Immunoproteomics & Assay Engineering: Lead the conceptualization, development, and optimization of high-throughput immunoproteomics and single-cell assay platforms.
• Target Discovery & Validation: Identify and validate novel immunotherapeutic targets and small-molecule vulnerabilities using integrated multi-omics, primary organoid cultures, tumor-on-chip systems, and in vivo mouse models.
• Research Dissemination: Lead manuscript development, contribute to grant applications and technical reports, and present research findings at scientific conferences.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Oversee daily experimental workflows, train junior scientists and scientific trainees, and foster a collaborative laboratory environment.
• Travel: Participate in occasional travel to scientific conferences and other research-related events, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, or a field appropriate to the area of assignment obtained within the last 2 years or less.

Desired Qualifications:

• Demonstrated research experience and publication record in cancer immunology and cancer biology.
• Demonstrated experience with cell-based, patient-derived xenograft (PDX), and mouse cancer models.
• Demonstrated experience with cell-based immunoassays, multi-omics assays, and immunoassay development.
• Demonstrate excellent learning, scientific writing, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of operating and troubleshooting automated laboratory instrumentation is preferred.
