London Business School is inviting applications for a fully funded postdoctoral research position starting in the 2026-2027 academic year.
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research in Organisational Behaviour, working in two areas:
1) Leadership in the context of Private Equity: to explore leadership effectiveness in private equity, including which personality profiles and experiences are associated with high-performing leaders in the sector, and whether the capabilities required differ between CEO roles and other board-level roles, including the governance of AI.
2) Leadership in the context of Family Office: to explore leadership and organisational culture within family offices, including the types of people and cultures best suited to family office environments; and insights drawn from interviews with family offices to capture the diverse perspectives of both family members and professionals working in the sector.
The postdoctoral fellow will work with and mentored by Professor Randall Peterson as their primary supervisor, but will also be free to work with any LBS faculty across the 26/27 and 27/28 academic years.
Applicants must have completed a PhD before the appointment in organisational behaviour, management or a related field. They must demonstrate strong capabilities for conducting original research using quantitative methods in experiments, field studies or with archival data.
The appointment is for two years, with the second year contingent upon satisfactory performance during the first year and funding from the donor of these funds. We will offer a competitive salary and full access to the LBS environment. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to contribute and benefit from the resources of the OB community, which includes interactions with faculty and PhD students, mentoring opportunities, organisation of reading groups, and training sessions.
Please apply on Interfolio attaching your CV, two references, aresearch statement, a cover letter describing your motivation to apply for the post and a sample research paper. Please submit applications by September 15th, 2026.
For questions about the application process, please contact Randall Peterson ( rpeterson@london.edu) or Aoife Sexton ( asexton@london.edu).
