About This Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an inquisitive and ambitious researcher to join a collaborative and purpose-driven environment at AIBN. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will work alongside leading academics to advance innovative research in nanomaterials, contributing to meaningful scientific outcomes and real-world impact.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Research: Contribute to and develop a coherent research program, collaborate on research projects, participate in applications for competitive research funding, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
  • Supervision and Researcher Development: Contribute to the supervision of Honours and HDR students, lead and supervise employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
  • Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

This is a full-time (100%) fixed-term position through to December 2026 at Academic Level A.

About You

  • Completion or near completion of a PhD in the Nanomaterials area.
  • An emerging profile in research in the Nanomaterials area.
  • Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research funding.
  • Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities.
