Job Description

General Summary of Position:
The purpose of this position is primarily to develop assays for biomarkers in the Department of Chemistry at University of Massachusetts
Lowell. The Postdoctoral Research Associates will work closely with faculty, other post-doctoral associates, graduate students and undergraduate students on the synthesis, characterization, and development of assays.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Education:
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry/BioChemistry or related areas

  • Demonstrated research accomplishments
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and writing
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. received within 6 months of hire
  • Expertise in synthesis/assay development
  • Strong independent problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

This position is benefited, full-time and in the Grants & Contracts union. Grade:  PD which has range minimum of $50,000, 25th quartile of $56,500 and midpoint of $63,000. Anticipate this position not to exceed $65,000 based on funding.

This position is contingent upon funding. The initial appointment will be for approximately one year (365 days) with a possibility of renewal based on productivity, successful performance and availability of funding.
