
The Barth Laboratory at Carnegie Mellon University is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to investigate plasticity in neocortical inhibitory interneurons during experience and learning.This NIH-funded position will involve detailed analysis of neural activity and synaptic properties of inhibitory neurons using in vivo imaging and whole-cell recordings, as well as advanced histological methods for quantitative molecular investigations.
PhD graduates should have experience working with transgenic mice, standard histological techniques, and patch-clamp recordings and a strong publication record in experimental neuroscience from their doctoral studies.Candidates should be adept at identifying important scientific questions, synthesizing scientific results and generating experimental plans.
