Participation in the implementation, integration, testing, and experimental evaluation of prototypes, proofs of concept, pilots, and demonstrators. Utilization of development tools, version control, experimental environments, and good coding practices.
The duties of the hired person will focus on research, development, validation, and transfer of results in the fields of applied cryptography, cybersecurity, and post-quantum and verifiable digital infrastructures. In particular, they will include:
  1. Analysis of the state of the art and monitoring of European and international standards in post-quantum cryptography, public key infrastructures, digital certificates, electronic signatures, revocation mechanisms, automated certificate management, and associated security protocols.
  2. Design, analysis, and validation of cryptographic mechanisms for the post-quantum transition, including hybrid certificates, post-quantum or hybrid digital signatures, cryptographic combiners, certificate lifecycle management protocols, timestamping, revocation mechanisms, and alternatives or extensions to X.509 infrastructures.
  3. Participation in the implementation, integration, testing, and experimental evaluation of prototypes, proofs of concept, pilots, and demonstrators in applied research environments, with special attention to robustness, interoperability, performance, scalability, and suitability for real-world use cases.
  4. Contribution to national and European competitive projects linked to the research line, including the preparation of deliverables, technical reports, reproducible documentation, experimental results, dissemination materials, and scientific or technical publications.
  5. Technical coordination with other members of the research team, consortium partners, companies, public institutions, standardization bodies, and other agents in the cybersecurity and digital trust ecosystem.

Accreditation of sufficient knowledge of Catalan for teaching
Decree 128/2010, of September 14, on the accreditation of the linguistic knowledge of teaching staff at universities within the Catalan university system, establishes that university professors must accredit a sufficient knowledge of Catalan, both in oral and written expression, in accordance with the demands of their academic tasks. At the time of signing the contract, the selected person may choose between accrediting their knowledge of Catalan or postponing this accreditation for a maximum period of two years. The accreditation of this linguistic competence and participation in the training actions necessary to achieve and maintain it are part of the ordinary and assessable obligations of the teaching staff.
In the case of teaching in third languages, it is recommended to start language training in order to interact with students, teaching and research staff, and administrative and service staff in any of the working languages and to respect the linguistic rights of the university community. It is also recommended to start this training because if teaching in Catalan or Spanish is assigned at any point, two years after hiring, sufficient knowledge must be accredited.
This accreditation corresponds to the provisions of Decree 128/2010, of September 14. Further information can be consulted on the UPF Languages website.
