
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow or Visiting Assistant Professor position in applied field biology. Areas of potential focus include freshwater ecology, terrestrial ecology, hydrology, nutrient cycling, ecotoxicology, restoration ecology and related fields. Candidates are expected to create innovative undergraduate courses (including field-based courses in the Greater Atlanta Area), mentoring students, and contributing to the academic and research missions of our institution.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and teach lecture and field courses that could include but are not limited to foci mentioned above.
Participate in departmental meetings, seminars, and other academic activities.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
Demonstrated expertise and experience in foci mentioned above.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in various field conditions and terrains.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
A record of peer-reviewed publications in relevant fields.
Knowledge of local environmental regulations and policies in Georgia.
