Successful candidates will have an interest in basic and applied research, strong communication skills, and enjoy collaborative work.

How you’ll contribute:

  • Express and purify viral DNA polymerase and their associated replisome components

  • Develop and implement enzyme assays to characterize viral DNA replication in vitro

  • Determine high resolution structures of viral DNAPs and replisome components via cryo-EM and/or X-ray crystallography

  • Collaborate with internal colleagues to reconstruct minimal replication systems

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology or related discipline

  • Publication of original scientific work in high-quality journals

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

What will make you stand out:

  • Prior experience in biochemical and structural characterization of enzymes

  • Background in DNA replication mechanisms or viral biology

*Submission of a cover letter is highly encouraged

This position offers exciting opportunities for fast-paced research, collaboration with academic and industrial institutions, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and participation in national and international conferences.

Estimated base salary for a Postdoctoral Fellow is $74,000
