English Literature
Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of English
Starts August 2026
The English department invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow who will teach five courses for the 2026-2027 academic year, starting in August 2026. Applicants must have a PhD conferred before August 1, 2026. The salary for the 2026-27 academic year will be $55,000.
Positions are available in the following areas:
· Early and/or 19th-century American literature and culture
· Latinx Literature and Culture
· Literature and Medicine
Required qualifications for this position include:
-Specialization in one or more of the areas mentioned above, as demonstrated by juried publications and presentations, dissertation and comprehensive-exam foci, and/or teaching experience.
Completed applications must include:
-a letter of application outlining interest in and qualifications for the position, including information about teaching experience and evidence of excellence in teaching.
-a CV.
-an article-length writing sample that demonstrates the candidate’s interest and expertise in one or more of the areas of specialization mentioned above.
-Three letters of recommendation submitted directly to Interfolio.
-Dissertation abstract.
-Two or more syllabi for classes taught.
