The Department of Chemistry at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in protein NMR in the Mohanty Lab. The PI invites applications from candidates who can lead an independent project focusing on the expression, purification, structure, and function of proteins using multi-dimensional heteronuclear solution NMR of proteins and computational chemistry, especially molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, docking, and inhibitor designing. The Research Associate will provide updates on research progress during weekly group meetings, write scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, disseminate research at national conferences (oral/poster presentations) and assist the PI in writing grant proposals. This position also includes lab management responsibilities, which will include but are not limited to, assisting the PI in providing experimental and technical supervision of one or more graduate students, mentoring and training new graduate students on experimental methods, and assisting the PI with overall laboratory management.
The appointment will be for one year, beginning in January 2025 at a mutually agreed upon date, and is renewable for up to three years, based on performance of assigned duties and availability of funding.
The PI invites applications from candidates who can lead an independent project focusing on the expression, purification, structure, and function of proteins using multi-dimensional heteronuclear solution NMR of proteins and computational chemistry, especially molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, docking, and inhibitor designing. Although candidates who are ABD will be considered, the preference will be for applicants who have completed a PhD in Chemistry or a related field (Biophysics, Structural Biology, Chemical Biology, or Biochemistry) and have a strong record of research.
