Job Description

Applications are solicited for one individual to be appointed as a postdoctoral associate under the supervision of Professor Woerpel. The laboratory is involved in the development of new methods for the synthesis of organic compounds with biological activity and with the identification and experimental validation of models to understand the stereochemistry of common transformations. This position is based in New York, and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date.

Successful applicants will be highly motivated with an interest in working in the areas of synthetic chemistry. The ideal candidate will have research experience in the development of new approaches to prepare complex molecules and in designing experiments to uncover details of reaction mechanisms. Experience in the purification and full characterization of new chemical entities is essential. Experience mentoring students is highly desirable.

The terms of employment, which would be a year, with a possibility of renewal, include a competitive salary and other benefits. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, this position's annual base salary range is $62,500.00 – $65,664. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

We welcome applications from international candidates; however, please note that NYU is not an E-Verify employer and therefore unable to support STEM OPT extensions.
