Job Description

A postdoctoral associate position is available at the Department of Physics, New York University under the supervision of Prof. Sarah Kostinski. The research will be focused on theoretical aspects of statistical and biological physics. Candidates for the position must have a PhD in physics or a related discipline, preferably with expertise in stochastic processes, nonlinear dynamics, and biological physics.

The intended start date is September 1, 2026, but earlier or later start dates can be arranged. The initial appointment is for one year subject to performance and continued funding, with the possibility of a second and a third year. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer

This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date.
