Position: Postdoctoral Associate

Department: NYU School of Global Public Health Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences

Supervisor: Dr. Adolfo Cuevas

Employment Dates: This position will run for eight months - July 27, 2026 - March 31, 2027

The Postdoctoral Associate will join the BASE Lab in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at NYU School of Global Public Health. The postdoctoral associate will contribute to NIH-funded and other externally funded research examining how social determinants of biological health, including discrimination, neighborhood environments, and socioeconomic conditions, influence immunological aging across the life course.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to analyses of large epidemiologic datasets.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Assist with the development and preparation of grant proposals.
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in research projects.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary investigators on NIH-funded and other externally funded research.
  • Conduct research examining how social determinants of biological health including discrimination, neighborhood environments, and socioeconomic conditions influence immunological aging across the life course.
  • Develop independent research projects that align with the mission and priorities of the BASE Lab.
  • Contribute to the overall research activities of the BASE Lab and the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Successful candidates should have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, psychology, sociology, biostatistics, or a related field, strong quantitative analytic skills, experience working with large longitudinal datasets, and a demonstrated record of scientific writing.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $70,000-$80,000.
