Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Biomedical Sciences or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in wet lab (cell culture, bench assays) and working with mice.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Wan laboratory at Stony Brook University is seeking two Postdoctoral Associates to join our growing research group. Our research focuses on understanding how RNA regulatory mechanisms contribute to cancer progression and therapeutic responses, and on developing innovative RNA-based therapeutic strategies. Current projects integrate molecular biology, RNA engineering, mRNA technologies, and lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-based delivery systems with translational studies using cellular and animal models to investigate post-transcriptional regulation and therapeutic intervention approaches in cancer.
The successful candidate will participate in interdisciplinary research involving RNA biology, mRNA and LNP-related technologies, cell-based functional assays, and mouse models. Candidates with experience in molecular biology, RNA therapeutics, nanoparticle delivery systems, immunology, or translational biomedical research are highly encouraged to apply.
Duties:
●Conduct experiments to investigate RNA regulation, mRNA processing, and RNA-based therapeutic strategies in cancer biology, including the development and evaluation of mRNA and lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-based delivery systems using cellular and mouse models.
●Write manuscripts for publication, analyze experimental data, and present research findings at
national/international scientific meetings.
●Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with laboratory organization and training new personnel.
