Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)

●Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Medicine or a closely related field (received not more than six years ago).

●Experienced with neuroscience research with a track record of neuroscience/neurosurgery manuscript publication.

●Experience with database management (REDCap).

Preferred Qualifications:

●Having some basic science lab skills, and familiarities with clinical trials and cohort studies is a plus.

●Experience with proposal writing.

●MATLAB or Python.

●Statistical programs R or SPSS.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Sima Mofakham in the department of Neurological Surgery.Please visit the Mofakham-Mikell Lab to learn more about our department/research. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.

●Within the predetermined research scope and methodology, conduct research experiments in the field of Neurosciences/Neurological Surgery. Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills in related field to analyze the collected data. Database development.

●Assisting in writing proposals. Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.

●Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies as needed.

●Mentoring PhD and medical students

●Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings.
