Are you interested in developing new technologies for high-speed terahertz (THz) imaging?
At DTU Electro, you will work at the interface of ultrafast THz photonics, nonlinear optics, and coherent imaging to develop a new generation of broadband THz imaging technology.
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in ultrafast THz photonics to join our team on a project funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The project aims to develop high-speed, hyperspectral, and super-resolution THz imaging by combining broadband THz-to-near-infrared upconversion with focal-plane-array detection.
You will play a central role in developing and demonstrating a new generation of high-speed coherent THz imaging technology. Working closely with researchers at DTU Electro and our project partners, your main responsibilities will include:
We are looking for an experimental researcher with a strong background in ultrafast optics, THz photonics, nonlinear optics, optical imaging, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with femtosecond laser systems and complex optical setups is highly desirable. Experience with THz time-domain spectroscopy, nonlinear frequency conversion, scientific programming, data analysis, or optical imaging will be considered an advantage.
You should be able to work independently, take responsibility for experimental progress, and solve challenging technical problems while collaborating effectively in an international and interdisciplinary research environment. We value scientific curiosity, creativity, and strong communication skills. You should be able to communicate your research clearly in written and spoken English and contribute to high-quality scientific publications.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
DTU is a leading technical university globally recognized for the excellence of its research, education, innovation and scientific advice. We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment. We strive for academic excellence in an environment characterized by collegial respect and academic freedom tempered by responsibility.
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. In addition, supplements can be negotiated in accordance with DTU’s salary structure for scientific staff: www.inside.dtu.dk/en/human-resources/during-employment/salary/salary-structures.
The period of employment is 14 months. Starting date is 1 January 2027. The position is a full-time position.
