Coordinates all activities between the United States postal service (USPS) and the institution.
Delivers and picks up all mail.
Receives USPS and united parcel service (ups) packages and coordinate delivery to the institutional property officer.
The postal Director actively inspects all mail for contraband.
Maintains and interprets SCDC policies and USPS regulations concerning mail in an institutional environment.
Maintains records of money instruments received and/or returned.
Coordinates activities of E. H cooper trust fund.
Research records for the location of inmates in an effort to handle the mail properly.
The postal director actively receives, process and distributes all Incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
The postal director plans and prioritize the daily work schedule and ensure all required Training is up to date.
A high school diploma and three (3) years of experience in postal, courier, or delivery operations with one (1) year of supervisory experience.
OR
An associate degree or higher with one (1) year of supervisory experience may be substituted for the required work experience.
