POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE

New York University Tandon School of Engineering

Prof. Debra Laefer NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Post Doctoral Associate to work with the CUSP Urban Observatory as part of a National Science Foundation project.

The CUSP-UO is a rooftop-mounted sensing platform that provides persistent, multi-scale imaging and sensing of New York City, enabling researchers to examine interactions among physical infrastructure, the natural environment, and human activity.

Responsibilities

Candidates will be responsible for developing and implementing a metadata framework for urban hyperspectral data as well as hyperspectral data processing protocols. In addition, candidates will be expanding metadata frameworks to support persistent, synoptic data acquisition, facilitating data interoperability between sensing platforms, engaging for scientific community outreach, and establishing a pipeline for FAIR data archiving.

Salary range

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary for this position is $82,500. Extension of appointment is available, subject to funding availability and performance

Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD in public policy, law, data governance, or a related field or a related field. We welcome applicants with recent PhDs and individuals seeking additional postdoctoral training. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
