The Division of General Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar to join a research program focused on patient centered outcomes research in cancer control. The position is structured to support training and research in the area of patient-centered outcomes research, with an emphasis on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and the science of patient engagement.
Responsibilities will include:
-Supporting scientific research activities in the area of social and behavioral science such as survey research, systematic reviews, qualitative methods, and more (50%)
-Contribute to manuscript preparation, abstract submission, and presentation of research at conferences and other scientific/community venues (20%)
-Assist with the management of ongoing research projects (10%)
-Engaging in capacity building activities related to patient-centered outcomes research and cancer control (5%)
-Assist with the development of grant proposal (5%)
-Additional activities (10%)
Required Qualifications
-PhD in a social or behavioral science discipline (for example, psychology, health services research, public health, sociology, communication, health economics or a related field) with a demonstrated focus on health applications
-Strong quantitative or mixed methods training appropriate to patient-centered measurement or stakeholder engaged research
-Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a record of, or strong potential for, peer reviewed publication
Ability to work independently while also functioning well within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team
