The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time Post Doctoral Scholar position in Dr. Christina Dyar’s lab. The overarching goal of Dr. Dyar’s lab is to advance our understanding of psychological mechanisms through which different types of stigma-related stressors (e.g., discrimination, microaggressions) impact mental health and substance use among LGBTQ+ individuals.

The Postdoctoral Scholar will contribute to ongoing projects in Dr. Dyar’s lab (e.g., cross-sectional, longitudinal, and ecological momentary assessment studies of stigma, mental health, and substance use among LGBTQ+). They will also have opportunities to analyze existing data, to author and co-author manuscripts, and to gain exposure to and mentorship on grant writing. The expected start date for the position is Summer or Fall 2027 and the expected length of the position is 2 years (pending satisfactory completion of responsibilities during the first year).

Minimum Education required, degree level and focus area:

  • Ph.D. in social/behavioral/health sciences or a related field (e.g., psychology, public health, nursing, sociology) by the start date

Minimum Years of Experience required:

  • 4-5 years of experience conducting quantitative and/or qualitative social/behavioral/health sciences research

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze both qualitative and quantitative data
  • Experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  • Ability to design and implement a study
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong project management skills (e.g., organization, time management)

Additional Information

Term: 2 years, pending successful performance in Year 1 (with the possibility of extending the position beyond 2 years)

Location: On-site and hybrid applications will be considered. Must reside in the state of Ohio for the duration of the position.
