Seeking aPost Doctoral Scholarto jointheDepartment of Chemistry andBiochemistryatTheOhio State Universityto studyexcited-state dynamics and finite-temperature electronic structureofcondensed-phase systems using theoretical and computational methods ThePost Doctoral Scholar will embark on a program of independent research with theprimary goaltodeterminehowstronglycoupled electronic and vibrational excitations shape the finite-temperature response properties of interfaces and solidsDuties will includeconductingresearchwork centered arounddevelopingfirst principles theoreticalmethods, performingmultiscalesimulations, and analyzingcomputational data; leadingmanuscriptpreparationfor submission to peer-reviewed journals; and mentoring undergraduate and graduate studentsOther responsibilities includethe maintenance ofcustom open-sourcecomputing software

Qualifications

PhD inchemistryorphysicsor a related fieldby the time of hire isrequired,along with astrong theoretical background inphysicalchemistry or chemical physicsDemonstrated experienceoperatingand maintaining acodebase oftheoretical methods and software; excellent verbal and written communication skills;andacollaborative mentality towards research and mentoring

Desiredskills and techniques includeexperience developing condensed-phase electronic structuremethods, quantum-classicaldynamicsapproaches, or Green’s functiontechniques.These required anddesiredskills should bedemonstratedthrough a record of peer-reviewed publications.
