Job Description

Join an interdisciplinary research postdoctoral fellowship program in basic and translational aspects of genetics, molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, pathophysiology and treatment of liver and gastrointestinal tract disorders. Program goals are to attract Ph.D., M.D. and DVM postdoctoral trainees to these fields and to provide training in state-of-the-art research techniques. Fellowships are for one year, with a potential second year of support dependent on successful renewal of our competitive T32 grant renewal, and are funded by an NIH ( NIDDK) Institutional Training Grant (T32). Applicants must be a citizen or a permanent resident of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence at the time of appointment.

Candidates should have a strong academic track record, work well in a goal-oriented team setting, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, candidates must have a PhD, and/or MD degree by appointment date. Experience with mammalian cell culture, bacterial culture, mouse handling, basic biochemical and molecular biology techniques and some background in computational biology is preferred
