Pay Range:

$55,000 - $60,000/year

The Positive Support Analyst (PSA) works under the supervision of a Positive Support Professional to support individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and behavioral challenges. This role focuses on conducting assessments, developing and monitoring positive support plans, and ensuring services are person-centered, trauma-informed, and compliant with Minnesota DHS 245D and Positive Supports Rule (Chapter 9544). This position works across multiple sites, collaborating with staff and interdisciplinary teams to improve quality of life and reduce the use of restrictive interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the function of behaviors.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs) and related strategies.
  • Review and analyze behavioral data to evaluate effectiveness and guide plan updates.
  • Provide training and coaching to staff on behavior support strategies and proper implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with Minnesota 245D and Positive Supports Rule requirements.
  • Collaborate with persons served, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support person-centered outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation.
  • Travel to multiple service locations to support implementation and oversight.

Requirements

Education & Certification (one of the following required):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a human services-related field (e.g., psychology, social work, behavioral sciences, or nursing); or
  • Qualification as a Mental Health Practitioner under Minn. Stat. §245.462

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and supporting behavior intervention strategies
  • Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors, mental health conditions, or neurocognitive disorders

Required Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and behavior functions
  • Ability to support development and implementation of positive support strategies
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Ability to train, coach, and support staff in implementation
  • Strong person-centered and trauma-informed approach

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Must meet Minnesota DHS requirements for a Positive Support Analyst under 245D and Positive Supports Rule (9544)
  • Ability to work under clinical supervision of a Positive Support Professional

Preferred:

  • BCBA or BCaBA certification
  • Knowledge of Minnesota 245D, Positive Supports Rule, and waiver services

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to travel to multiple service locations
  • Must pass DHS background study and MVR check
