Overview: Horizon Farm Credit is actively recruiting for a Portfolio Support Specialist Manager to join our Portfolio Specialist team. The hours of operation are typically, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position is eligible for hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will lead a team of Portfolio Support Specialists who play a critical role in supporting loan transactions, loan servicing activities, and customer relationships across the Association.

This position is ideal for a strong leader who is passionate about coaching employees, driving operational excellence, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will work closely with Ag Relationship Managers and business partners while helping the organization achieve its portfolio servicing, customer experience, and growth objectives.

Position Description:

As a Portfolio Support Specialist Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, and coaching to a team responsible for supporting loan transactions from origination through closing and ongoing portfolio servicing. You will oversee daily operations, ensure service quality standards are maintained, and provide technical guidance related to procedures, credit administration, and loan servicing activities. The PSS Manager will foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer service excellence while supporting team development and organizational goals. You will serve as a key resource for process improvement initiatives, change management, and operational effectiveness across the Association.

Areas of Responsibility Include but Are Not Limited To:

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Portfolio Support Specialists to support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Oversee loan transaction and servicing activities to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with established procedures and service standards.
  • Monitor team performance, establish expectations, and provide training to maintain a highly skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing innovative processes that enhance efficiency and customer value.
  • Champion change initiatives and help team members adapt successfully to evolving business needs.
  • Ensure portfolio servicing actions are completed accurately and within established timelines while maintaining visibility into workflow and task status.
  • Collaborate with Ag Relationship Managers, Home & Land Lenders, Portfolio Managers, and other business partners to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
  • Provide technical guidance related to credit administration, loan servicing procedures, and customer relationship management best practices.
  • Utilize and promote CRM tools to strengthen customer relationships, enhance communication, and support a strong sales culture.
  • Participate in Association, regional, and district-wide initiatives, special projects, and leadership opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Economics, Finance, Agriculture, or related field.
  • Generally, eight or more years of sales and/or credit experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in credit administration and loan servicing practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive situations, make sound business decisions, and effectively manage change.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The salary range for this position is $89,100 to $132,800, with a midpoint of $110,800. This range reflects current market compensation data and our commitment to competitive, equitable pay. The starting rate is based on the applicant’s relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. Most new hires are offered a starting rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range, although placement elsewhere in the range may be appropriate based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
