Horizon Farm Credit is seeking a Portfolio Support Specialist to join our team. This position reports to the Portfolio Support Specialist Manager and may work in either the Mechanicsburg, PA, Mount Joy, PA, Winchester, VA or Frederick, MD office location. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months of successful employment. Our ideal candidate would combine strong operational discipline with a customer‑centric mindset and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to the Portfolio Management team through account servicing, research, and delinquency management while delivering operational and lending assistance. This role works closely with association-wide teams to ensure the efficient delivery of financial products and services, fostering strong collaboration through effective communication and teamwork. The Portfolio Support Specialist is committed to meeting customer needs either directly or through coordination with team members and operates independently under general supervision to support overall organizational goals.

Areas of Responsibility Include:

  • Loans Maturing Monitoring/Management

Serve as primary control for monthly maturities for assigned portfolios. Work with members and request assistance of portfolio managers if coordination and assistance is needed. Coordinate collection of necessary member documentation for loan maturity renewal or extension and coordinate terms for note modifications on applicable loan products. Submit necessary servicing loan actions for approval and send them to appropriate team for document delivery. Monitor the return of documents to close out the action and directly work with members on closing loan actions timely.

  • Delinquency Management

Serve as point of contact for customers during early-stage delinquency activities with focused contact to appropriate borrowers and ensuring the Association has completed a minimum of two contacts with all delinquent customers prior to transition to Credit Resolution Team. Uncover core factors driving delinquency issues. Communicate scope of borrower impact. Work with third parties (i.e. FSA, MARBIDCO, etc.) as necessary on delinquent obligations.

  • Portfolio Management Support

Serve as resource for portfolio managers for servicing, pipeline management and research needs of the portfolio managers’ assigned portfolios. Assistance with servicing tasks includes pricing note modifications, releases, subordinations, annual financial collection and covenant compliance, monitoring loan servicing plans to ensure they and related tasks are up to date, etc.. Support portfolio managers in keeping pipelines up to date and complete account research as assigned. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Coordinate support across Inside Sales Specialist, Customer Service Specialist, and other team members involved as applicable.

  • Business Coverage

On occasion as needed, provide interment leave coverage for any lender to ensure existing and potential customers receive prompt and courteous service. Leave coverage would include handling new money requests.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Finance, or related field. Generally, at least three years of experience, preferably within lending or financially related experience.

  • Moderate knowledge of software applications and proven self-starter.
  • Detail oriented, independent judgment skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects/assignments.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to be collaborative and ability to develop and work well in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to initiate, organize and prioritize work and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serves the best interest of the association and borrower
  • Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance is required.

Salary Range: $56,800 - $69,900 depending on previous experience. Opportunity to earn additional incentive.
