Job Description

Create your best future and join Westpac as a Manager, Portfolio Management & Insights

What’s the role?

As Manager, Portfolio Management & Insights, you’ll sit within the analytical arm of the Group Credit Portfolio team, delivering forward‑looking insights across Westpac’s lending portfolios.

The role focuses on credit analytics, portfolio deep dives, and trend analysis, helping senior leaders and risk committees understand asset quality, emerging risks, and customer stress indicators. You’ll also support the credit provisioning process under AASB 9, applying sound accounting judgement and analytical insight to explain portfolio movements, assumptions, and outcomes.

You’ll work closely with Credit Risk, Finance, Modelling, and Economics teams and contribute to senior‑level reporting and committee cycles, understanding how analytics feeds into governance and regulatory outcomes.

This is a permanent fulltime Sydney‑based role, with flexible work options (3 days in office)

What do I need?

  • Experience in credit portfolio management, risk analytics, or related roles within financial services
  • An accounting background with exposure to or understanding of credit provisioning under AASB 9 / IFRS 9
  • Strong comfort working with data and analytics, including interpreting trends and drivers (hands‑on coding not mandatory)
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights for senior stakeholders and committees
  • Experience preparing or contributing to management and risk reporting in regulated environments
  • Strong judgement, curiosity, and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, insight‑driven work

Backgrounds from Big Four audit or advisory environments are highly relevant.
