Job Location: Wichita, KS 67210SUMMARY
The Portfolio Operations Analyst supports portfolio execution through technical documentation, process clarity, training development, and operational data support. This role translates complex processes and systems into clear, usable documentation while maintaining portfolio-level tools, dashboards, and reference materials. The position plays a key role in enabling organizational consistency, knowledge transfer, and visibility across the broader project portfolio.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including:
- - Work Instructions (WIs)
- - Process documentation
- - Training manuals and reference guides
- Interview process owners and subject matter experts to translate workflows into clear, structured documentation
- Create step-by-step instructions for complex systems, tools, and processes
- Maintain and update training materials and internal knowledge libraries
- Support Smartsheet administration, including:
- - Loading hours and financial data
- - Maintaining dashboards, project lists, and portfolio views
- Assist with financial data handling, reconciliation, and validation (training provided as needed)
- Develop and maintain PowerPoint materials, ensuring:
- - Formatting consistency
- - Clean, professional visuals
- - Strict adherence to presentation and branding standards
- Support portfolio-level visibility, consistency, and organizational clarity across multiple projects

- Technical writing principles and documentation best practices
- Business process documentation and workflow mapping
- Training material development and knowledge transfer methods
- Basic financial concepts related to hours, labor tracking, and validation
- Spreadsheet and data integrity fundamentals
- Presentation standards and visual communication principles

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing, business process support, operations, or analyst roles
- Experience working with documentation, training materials, or operational systems
- Experience with Smartsheet, Excel, or similar tools preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primarily office-based or remote with extended computer use
- Frequent collaboration with process owners, analysts, and project teams
- Detail-intensive work requiring sustained focus
- Fast-paced environment with evolving documentation and portfolio needs
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- If a Security Clearance is required:
- - Candidates "must/may need" to be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- - Successful candidates must be able to secure Program Access approval
