We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Portfolio Manager Business Analysis.

The Operations Strategy & Change Delivery (S&CD) function provides project and program management delivery to enable Operations to deliver priority change-the-bank initiatives from a variety of sources including strategic, regulatory and business drive change.

Strategy & Change Delivery is responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining a book of work (portfolio) as well as successful delivery of projects that have been agreed with key stakeholders at both the regional and global level, including global strategic programmes.

The function also provides guidance and support to the countries in the region regarding Markets and Securities Services Operational issues.

To this end, and to support a Markets wide change initiative, we require a Project Manager / Business Analyst to join the Strategy & Change Delivery team to take responsibility of several key items within the initiative and as part of a Global change team.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Manage delivery of milestones within projects from inception to implementation for various strategic, industry, regulatory, mandatory, BAU or streamlining initiatives within Operations; ensure timely and cost effective delivery; actively manage project portfolio conflicts – schedule embargos, resource management and delivery risk.
  • Responsible for ensuring ongoing and consistent engagement and relationship management with stakeholders across the region (i.e. Process Owners, Regional and Function Heads) as well as to corresponding S&CD stakeholders in the region (i.e. Cluster/Regional leads).
  • Responsible for ensuring all Milestones, Risks, Issues, Dependencies and Change Requests are logged in Clarity and monitored accordingly to limit the risk to any deliverables, aligning to the project manager.
  • Liaise directly with multiple stakeholder groups to ensure business requirements are clearly articulated, understood and tracked as well as ensure that deliverables are traceable to agreed business requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Global HSBC Change Framework (HCF) / S&CD framework and governance is consistently applied across all projects and initiatives in the region (i.e. working groups, reporting updates, Clarity updates, etc.).
  • Ownership and Project Management of the ISO migration of a number of sites (number of sites TBC subject to region, site size, go live dates etc)
  • Responsible for defining the overarching plan for each site and interlocking schedules with internal (OPAS and XSSL) and external (Payment Services) Teams. The Project Manager for the site will be responsible for harmonising all dates for the site into a cohesive plan along with non IT elements such as Operational Readiness.
  • Responsible for driving the plan across the site to agreed timescales as well as tracking and updating the plan as required.
  • Responsible for implementing the site level governance as per global standards HSBC Change Framework (HCF) (i.e. implementing working groups, status reporting updates, confluence pages etc).
  • Responsible for owning the engagement and relationship with MSS Operations Site Heads / Asset Class head (as applicable) and acting as the first point of contact within the ISO Programme Team.
  • Responsible for participating in the weekly status updates for sites which they are leading and working with OPAS, BA, XSSL on respective updates.
  • Contribute to GSC Mexico Innovation and “Transformers” delivery by managing the project lifecycle for assigned Transformers in the book of work, facilitating the local innovation ecosystem (idea intake, prioritization, governance cadence, stakeholder alignment), and ensuring adherence to the Global Transformers framework; build strong collaboration across GSC Mexico teams to mobilize and deliver innovation initiatives.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Proven track record of change management and business development within a large organization.
  • Process flow documentation and mapping experience.
  • A strong operational trade lifecycle knowledge is a requirement.
  • As well as supporting system changes and processing the candidate will need to manage key transformation projects in conjunction with Operations and IT.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills to identify exceptions in process handling and excellent judgement.
  • Ability to drive out details and question procedures employed to deliver quality services.
  • Organized, proactive, adaptable and self-driven to achieve collective information both formally and informally from Subject Matter Experts and is able to manage multiple workstreams with conflicting priorities and timelines.
  • Excellent relationship builder with strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and exacting standards.
  • Understanding of payments and SWIFT messages.
  • Presentation skills for delivering overviews, chairing working groups with the team and stakeholders.
