Description
The Portfolio Lead – Application Analysis leads Novigi's business analysis practice across client and internal engagements. The role is accountable for building a high-performing analysis capability, establishing standards, governance and ways of working, and providing strong people leadership across the practice.
The role operates as both a practice leader and a trusted client partner. Business Analysts are allocated to engagements and squads to support delivery, while accountability for day-to-day project or squad delivery remains with the relevant delivery leadership.

Responsibilities
People leadership and practice culture
- Provide people leadership for Business Analysts and Senior Business Analysts, including performance management, coaching, development, engagement and workforce planning.
- Establish expectations for analysis quality, consistency, accountability, commercial awareness and continuous improvement.
- Build the capability pipeline through recruitment, succession planning, career pathways and targeted development.
- Champion Novigi values and model Client First and AI Obsessed behaviours across the practice.
Analysis standards, governance and assurance
- Define, implement and maintain business analysis standards, methods, templates and ways of working.
- Own quality assurance for analysis outputs, including requirements, process models, user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability and decision artefacts.
- Ensure analysis work is proportionate, outcome-focused and aligned with delivery, architecture, testing and change needs.
- Establish reusable methods and communities of practice that improve consistency across engagements.
- AI adoption and innovation
- Drive responsible AI adoption across the practice, embedding AI tools into discovery, analysis, documentation and traceability methods.
- Set clear expectations for professional judgement, validation, confidentiality and quality when AI-enabled tools are used.
- Identify emerging analysis methods and tooling that improve productivity, insight and client outcomes
Workforce planning and organisational growth
- Own workforce planning for the practice, balancing current delivery demand with future capability requirements.
- Drive productivity growth through AI, reusable methods, capability uplift and disciplined allocation.
- Provide the GM and broader leadership cohort with clear visibility of practice capacity, capability, risks and contribution to strategic and commercial objectives.
- Delivery collaboration and service support
- Partner with delivery leaders and other Portfolio Leads to allocate the right analysis capability to engagements and squads.
- Maintain oversight of analysis quality and consistency where practitioners are embedded in delivery teams.
- Collaborate with Squad Leads on complex requirements, scope, stakeholder alignment and analysis quality matters.
- Contribute to cross-functional planning, standards alignment and continuous improvement across Architecture, Analysis and Quality.
- Role boundaries
- Accountable for people leadership, practice capability, analysis standards and governance, workforce planning, quality assurance, utilisation and AI adoption across the practice.
Not accountable for day-to-day squad delivery, project delivery outcomes, engineering implementation, managed service performance or SLA outcomes owned by delivery or service leadership.

- Consistent adoption of fit-for-purpose analysis standards, methods and reusable artefacts.
- Effective allocation and utilisation aligned to delivery priorities and skill needs.

Skills , Experience and Education
- Significant business analysis leadership experience, ideally in consulting, professional services, technology delivery or managed services, with proven accountability for practice quality, standards and workforce capability.
- Deep experience across discovery, requirements elicitation, process and functional analysis, user stories, acceptance criteria and end-to-end traceability.
- Demonstrated experience deploying analysis capability into complex engagements and working across Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery models.
- Proven people leadership across coaching, performance management, recruitment, succession planning and workforce development.
