Portfolio Head – Governance and Enablement

Mō te tūranga | About the Role
This key leadership role is responsible for lifting product governance across the organisation, transforming it into a strategic, insight-led capability that drives better customer and commercial outcomes.
Leading the Product Governance and Enablement function, you’ll partner closely with the Heads of Product and the Head of Risk to embed consistent, high-quality product practices across the bank.
You’ll strengthen product governance frameworks, enhance review processes, and ensure decisions are grounded in data and evidence. Acting as a force multiplier for the product function, you’ll provide governance oversight, frameworks, and capability uplift - enabling product leaders to focus on strategic delivery while you drive operational discipline and best practice.
A key part of the role is taking a portfolio-wide view across multiple product reviews, identifying issues and opportunities, and translating these into clear priorities that drive change and continuous improvement.

Proven senior leadership experience across Product, Risk, Legal or Compliance
Strong background in governance frameworks, product lifecycle, or product reviews in a complex or regulated environment
Strong commercial and contractual understanding, with experience developing or managing contract processes
Experience influencing and partnering with senior stakeholders and executive leaders
Demonstrated ability to drive data-led decision making and prioritisation
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to clearly articulate value and impact
Experience identifying cross-portfolio insights and turning them into actionable change
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
