ACS is where purpose, possibility and people come together. As Australia’s leading professional association for the technology community, we are strengthening the profession, creating greater value for our members and helping technology deliver a better future for Australia. We believe high performance is built on both capability and character: what you bring matters, and how you show up matters just as much. Our people bring our strategy to life by aiming high, being creative, collaborating and doing the right thing, because even the boldest strategy only succeeds when the culture behind it is strong. As the saying goes, “Culture Eats Strategy for Breakfast”.
As Portfolio Engagement Lead for Queensland & Northern Territory, you will lead a two-branch regional portfolio, bringing together members, volunteers, industry and stakeholders to create meaningful outcomes for the technology profession. You will play a key role in connecting regional priorities with ACS's strategic objectives, ensuring local insights and opportunities are translated into initiatives that strengthen member value, grow engagement and amplify ACS's influence.
Leading a team of two Branch Managers, you will build capability, drive performance and foster strong relationships with Branch Executive Committees (BECs), members and senior stakeholders. You will empower volunteer-led networks to succeed while maintaining a clear focus on growth, engagement, advocacy and operational excellence. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on stakeholder engagement. You will identify opportunities to grow membership, strengthen regional partnerships, activate advocacy initiatives and improve portfolio performance. Working closely with teams across ACS, you will help ensure regional voices contribute to national conversations and influence the future direction of Australia's technology profession.
You are a strategic and collaborative leader with a strong track record of building trusted relationships, leading high-performing teams and delivering measurable engagement and growth outcomes. You thrive in complex, stakeholder-rich environments and can translate regional priorities and insights into coordinated action.
You bring sound judgement, clear accountability and a practical approach to continuous improvement. Confident working with employees, volunteers, members, industry and government stakeholders, you communicate with credibility, address issues constructively and focus effort on initiatives that create meaningful member and organisational value.
