Job Description

Create your best future and join Westpac as a Portfolio Director, Non-Financial Risk

What’s the role?

You’ll step into a senior leadership role with real impact, owning and leading the Non-Financial Risk transformation portfolio across Westpac Group. This role brings the full NFR project portfolio under one accountable leader, giving you end to end oversight from strategy through to delivery and embedment.

You’ll lead multiple complex programs at once across policy, process, technology and people change. This is not a pure technology role. You’ll shape how Non-Financial Risk delivers change, improve operating models, uplift risk capability and ensure initiatives land successfully into business as usual.

You’ll work closely with senior risk leaders, divisional CROs, Technology, Data, Digital and AI teams, and executive stakeholders to ensure NFR initiatives support the bank’s broader transformation agenda and regulatory commitments.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Sydney, with flexible and hybrid working available.

What do I need?

  • Senior experience delivering complex programs or portfolios within banking or similarly regulated environments, with a strong understanding of Non-Financial Risk, banking products and systems
  • Proven capability leading transformation across operating models, policy, process and technology enabled change
  • Confidence working with complexity and ambiguity, setting clear delivery frameworks and driving outcomes in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading leaders and building high performing delivery teams
  • Strong senior stakeholder partnering skills across Risk, Technology, Data, Digital and AI, and business teams
