Porter (Maintenance)
Bournemouth Hospital | Property and Facilities | Permanent | Part time|

£ 25,038 per annum pro rata

22.5 hours per week

Our Facilities teamcurrently have an opportunity for aPorter (Maintenance). Continue your journey with us whilst we support you to be your best.

To provide general assistance and support within the facilities function and other departments of the hospital.

As our Porter (Maintenance) you will:

  • Porter patients around the Hospital safely and on time, following the correct procedures
  • Sort, deliver and frank hospital post as required
  • Collect and dispose of clinical waste and dirty laundry in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Complete driving duties to off-site locations
  • Receipt the delivery of, handling, storage and renewal of medical gas cylinders in line with health and safety requirements
  • Collect and deliver specimens
  • Maintain excellent presentation of the site
  • Assist in delivering Health & Safety/Facilities objectives

To succeed as a Porter (Maintenance), you will need to:

  • Enjoy working within a team
  • Present a friendly, approachable, positive and professional image of the organisation
  • Adopt an organised approach to your work, whilst being able to prioritise tasks throughout your working day
  • Be able to communicate calmly, politely and tactfully with team members and customers at all times, treating everyone with dignity and respect
  • Follow polices and procedures relating to Health & Safety and Infection Prevention

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a customer service / facing environment
  • Previous Health & Safety experience advantageous

Qualifications:

  • A basic standard of general education, with good written and verbal skills
  • To must be legally entitled to drive in the UK and have no more than 6 points on your license
