Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Under the general direction supervision of the Supervisor-Diagnostic Imaging Support and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of Shared Health, the Porter - Diagnostic Imaging is responsible for: transporting and assisting patients; attending to the needs of patients; documenting appropriate information; wiping down equipment and ensuring same is in adequate working order; ensuring rooms are properly stocked with linen; ensuring the adequate supply of oxygen tanks and changing them as required; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum six (6) months experience in a hospital or recognized equivalent health care setting as a patient porter or other direct patient care position is preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to interact well with other.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
