The Commercial Building Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of commercial properties. This position supports daily building operations by ensuring common areas, restrooms, exterior grounds, and tenant spaces remain clean, safe, and presentable at all times.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of exterior areas including sidewalks, parking lots, and entryways
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, vandalism, or damages to management promptly
  • Assist with building inspections and special cleaning projects
  • Support tenant requests and provide excellent customer service when interacting with occupants and visitors
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and pressure washers safely
  • Follow company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
  • Assist maintenance/engineer staff with minor tasks as directed

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain proof of insurance, and have reliable transportation.
  • Previous porter, janitorial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment preferred
  • Position requires verbal and written English communication sufficient to perform essential job functions

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
  • Ability to push carts and operate cleaning machinery
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the shift
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment

  • Commercial office buildings, retail centers, industrial properties, or mixed-use facilities
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment noise may occur
  • This is a multi-site position requiring travel between assigned commercial properties within the DFW Metroplex (approximately 180 miles per week). Monthly reimbursement available)

Additional Information

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Monday through Friday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
