THE ROLE
Immediate start for an experienced and hardworking Porter to join our team at Macquarie University Hospital on a Casual basis.
Multiple shifts are available, suits flexible availabilities (Mornings, Afternoons, and Nights)

Key Accountabilities of a Housekeeper include (but not limited to):
Deliver excellent service to clients, staff and visitors
Participates in audit preparation and auditing processes
Ensures all mandatory training and competencies for a Porter are completed in a timely manner
Demonstrates a willingness to work positively within a team to achieve team goals and the provision of excellence in service delivery
Participates in and contributes to occupational health and safety activities to ensure a safe work environment for self, clients, community, staff and visitors
Complies with obligations under Work Health and Safety Act 2012
Ensures incidences are reported accurately and in a timely manner
Transporting patients, baggage, linen delivery and equipment throughout the hospital
Assisting clinical staff in the movement and turning of patients throughout hospital.
Assisting with setting up equipment within Wards including wheelchairs and luggage trollies
Ensuring sufficient supplies of medical gas is available on each Ward and Theatre
Collection of pumps from the Wards and Theatre Departments and ensuring they are returned to the Recovery Department
Collection of dirty linen when required
Delivering clean linen to wards and monitoring inventory.
Assisting with patients Admissions and Discharges
Distribution of patient luggage to Wards
Maintaining high levels of customer service and ensuring communication is of a high standard
Build rapport with internal and external stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment
Assisting patient transport officer with transferring patients in patient transport van to different locations
ABOUT YOU
Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for meeting of quality standards and versatility in all facets of detail cleaning across Macquarie University Hospital and Clinics. The successful candidate will have worked as a Housekeeper/Cleaner, providing good customer service and achieving high quality cleaning standards within a healthcare, industrial, or hospitality facility. Having worked in a relevant setting, you will have a good eye for detail, values communication & teamwork, and determined to accomplish work allocations within specified service timeframes.

Previous experience in a private hospital environment
Role Specific Conditions:
Ability to work shift work/work as per the roster
Previous experience in a private hospital Setting would be highly desirable
