Job Description
As a porter you have 8 primary responsibilities:
- To professionally represent the restaurant, it’s ownership, management and fellow employees through exemplary appearance, attitude, service and performance.
- To observe company sanitation standards.
- To observe the Empowerment Philosophy.
- To communicate with management and fellow employees in a professional and friendly manner.
- To observe the company rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- To receive food and non-food items per established company procedures.
- To ensure security and organization of dry storage and walk-in areas.
- To perform warewashing and janitorial duties per company standards as assigned.
As a porter an overview of your duties is:
- To perform work station check list and set up same for business per restaurant guidelines prior to opening / commencement of work.
- To review and complete daily thaw list as assigned by Chef/Kitchen Manager and to prepare in the absence of same.
- To maintain work surfaces, floors, utensils, service vehicle sanitation standards throughout the course of the shift.
- To assist with general utility duties as assigned.
- To sweep and remove snow and ice from unit entranceways.
- To clean and stock lavatories and lobby ways.
- To receive all orders and check them against invoice and order sheets per company standards.
- To date all items received and store properly.
- To set up dish area and maintain same throughout the shift per unit procedure as assigned.
- To assure all garbage and boxes are properly broken down and disposed of.
- To prepare food products to company standards and recipe utilizing approved weight and measure vehicles as assigned.
- To perform closing sanitation and maintenance duties of all equipment, storage areas, and work surfaces within assigned station. Empty trash and re-line.
- To perform special sanitation maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor.
- To seek supervisor written time card approval prior to departure daily.
- To leave building immediately upon supervisor sign out.
