Our Security Screeners are responsible for day-to-day security screening of port employees, other individuals, and baggage/cargo passing through screening locations.
• Responsible for identifying dangerous objects and preventing those objects from being transported through Screening Locations
• Carry out duties in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service
• Use diverse, cutting-edge electronic detection and imaging equipment.
• Perform metal detection searches, pat down searches, operation of x-ray machines, physical searches of property, other identification review as needed
• Control the security post area using prescribed actions to meet entry and denial criteria
• Remain knowledgeable of security orders, directives and regulatory standards and procedures at all times
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Must have a State of California issued Security License
• Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Must possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• Must complete MTSA training
• Must have experience in passenger screening, cargo inspection, or TSA/DHS style screening environments
• Ability to work in maritime/port security environments
• Experience with access control, patrol, and security procedures
• Must read, write and speak English proficiently
• Must be able to pass a verifiable background check
• Must be able to pass pre-employment/annual/random drug screenings
• Must have reliable transportation
