Port and Plant Technician
Role: Port & Plant Technician

An excellent opportunity to join the Boliden Tara Mines team as a Port and Plant Technician.
Reporting to the Head of Section – Mill Process, the Port and Plant Technician is responsible for providing technical support to the mill production teams and managing and developing all aspects of the Dublin Port facility operation and concentrate transport.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
General
Ensure EHS compliance with pro-active engagement, including inspections, safety walks and reporting
Participate in the procurement of equipment and services
Initiate, lead & support improvements & projects as required
Lead the communications with all stakeholders
Ensure all processes and procedures are documented and procedures followed
Ensure training needs analysis for Port and transport personnel is implemented
Ensure rules and regulations are complied with
Other relevant duties may be required from time to time
Port
Monitor compliance for Mill department and Port for industrial emissions licence compliance
Manage environmental requirements for dust monitoring, quay sweeping, reporting etc.
Oversee contract management and ensure compliance with contracts and rules and regulations
Co-ordinate concentrate transport and shipping as per agreed plan
Monitor and record all concentrate movements
Ensure all required sampling / reporting for concentrate transport
Maintain all concentrate stores and handling facilities in good order
Implement preventative maintenance checks and plans in conjunction with the Maintenance Department
Mill Plant
Provide trouble shooting and technical support to mill production teams
Process Control: Monitor critical process variables to consistently achieve metallurgical targets for Zinc and Lead recovery and concentrate grade
Operational Leadership & Performance, daily mentor a team of shift supervisors, delegating tasks and ensuring optimal crew performance across all shifts.
Manage all work orders generated and ensure follow up, including detail preparation and coordination for shutdowns
Implement housekeeping and cleaning routines
Skills, Competencies & Experience:
Experience & Qualifications:
Extensive Industry Experience At least 5 years’ experience in a process environment with a focus mineral processing production, maintenance and port facilities coordination.
Leadership Proven track record of leading and managing teams, with strong strategic planning and decision-making skills.
Process Optimisation Experience in optimising production processes, improving efficiency, and implementing best practices.
Project Management Demonstrated ability to manage projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Safety Compliance In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and experience in maintaining a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Educational Background Technical or engineering Diploma/Degree.
Technical Skills Process engineering, maintenance management, logistics/transport, and EHS compliance
Analytical Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address production issues.
Communication Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various departments and stakeholders.
Language Fluent verbal and written English required

Additional Info:
The role will require frequent travel between the Dublin Port facility and the Mine operation in Navan. The role will require a presence at both facilities, on a business needs basis.
There will be a degree of flexibility required as part of this role in line with operational requirements.
There may be some international travel required as part of this role.
On call may be required during ship loading operations
Engage with external providers to ensure the facilities are operated to align with best practices
