New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as an Officer, Senior – Surveillance & Intelligence
About the role
Reporting to the Surveillance Supervisor, the Security Surveillance Operator is responsible for delivering proactive, intelligence-led surveillance across New Porgera Limited's operations to support the protection of people, assets, infrastructure and product.
The role is responsible for the continuous monitoring of integrated security systems, including CCTV, access control, alarms and other surveillance technologies, to identify safety, security and operational risks. Surveillance Operators play a critical role in supporting APD Operations and Investigations by detecting incidents, preserving evidence, monitoring compliance with company procedures, and providing timely, accurate information to facilitate operational decision-making and emergency response.
The position requires a high level of professionalism, integrity, situational awareness and attention to detail, together with the ability to assess emerging situations and respond appropriately in a dynamic mining environment
In this role, you will:
Monitor and operate integrated security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms and associated surveillance technologies.
Conduct proactive surveillance activities to identify actual or emerging safety, security and operational risks across the operation.
Detect and report security incidents, unauthorized access, product theft, fraud, suspicious behavior and other breaches of company policies and procedures.
Monitor employees, contractors, visitors and authorized personnel to support compliance with site security requirements and approved work practices.
Identify unsafe work practices, safety hazards and operational anomalies, ensuring they are accurately recorded and promptly reported to the appropriate personnel.
Provide real-time operational support to APD Operations, Investigations and Security Control through timely reporting and effective communication.
Capture, preserve and manage surveillance evidence in accordance with evidentiary standards and APD procedures to support investigations and disciplinary or criminal proceedings where required.
Conduct daily operational checks of surveillance equipment and associated systems, reporting faults and ensuring the continuous availability and integrity of security systems.
Manage digital evidence and recording systems to ensure secure storage, data integrity and compliance with applicable retention requirements.
Maintain detailed logs, reports and incident records that are accurate, timely and suitable for operational and investigative purposes.
Ensure compliance with the New Porgera Limited Gold Security Standard, APD Standard Operating Procedures and all applicable company policies.
Promote a culture of safety, integrity and continuous improvement by maintaining a high level of awareness of occupational health, safety, security and environmental requirements.
We are seeking highly professional individuals with excellent observation skills, sound judgement, strong ethical standards and the ability to remain calm and focused in a dynamic operational environment. Experience in CCTV operations, security control rooms, law enforcement, military, mining security or emergency management will be highly regarded
About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:
Grade 10 qualification as a minimum with good grades in all the core subject
Minimum of 3 years and above years of experience in surveillance and CCTV monitoring
Experience in CCTV/ electronics security monitoring will be an advantage
A qualification in IT or electronics will be an advantage
Ability to make sound decisions under adverse conditions
Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time
Demonstrate ability to uptake technical skills rapidly
Good interpersonal communication skills in English, both written and oral
Mobilization Requirement
This is a PNG National position, a site-based role on a FIFO arrangement with a rotation of 21 days on and 14 days off. Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening (to be arranged only for successful candidates after the interview stage), and provide an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months).
